HAMMOND’S FERRY LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
North Augusta, S.C. (January 6, 2006) - North Augusta, SC… Hammond’s Ferry, the mixed-use traditional neighborhood planned for North Augusta, SC on a mile frontage of the Savannah River, has launched a website (www.hammondsferry.com) where visitors can click on the News and Events section to access the latest information and breaking news about the development and a calendar of events, view preliminary designs for homes and the master plan, and find information about the history of North Augusta and the architecture of the area that has inspired the design of the homes of Hammond’s Ferry. The website is also a place to register for the Hammond’s Ferry mailing list, ask questions, or voice comments as plans for Hammond’s Ferry move forward.
Hammond’s Ferry will combine a variety of residence types including single-family homes, town homes and condominium apartments along with mixed-use buildings with retail spaces on the ground floors and rental apartments above. The buildings of Hammond’s Ferry are inspired by over three centuries of the rich historic architecture of Augusta and North. Federal Style, Greek Revival, Italianate, Queen and Craftsman Style, among others, are included in the impressive parade of architectural styles that will make Hammond’s Ferry a natural and welcome addition to North Augusta. Hammond’s Ferry will also serve to connect North Augusta to the Savannah River, a plan first envisioned by James U. Jackson in the late 1800’s.
72 lots were released for sale in May of this year and building permits will be issued in January 2006. Charlie Walker, Director of Sales for Hammond’s Ferry states, “We’re seeing a tremendous amount of interest from a variety of prospective homeowners: single professionals, couples with children and empty nesters, including active adults. Geographically, while most housing inquiries are coming from nearby communities in South Carolina and Georgia, we’re getting requests for information on the project from as far away as Florida and the Northeast corridor.”
Hammond’s Ferry is being developed by LeylandAlliance, LLC of Tuxedo, NY along with the North Augusta Riverfront Company.
