North Augusta, South Carolina…Hammond’s Ferry, the traditional neighborhood development in North Augusta, will host a cookout next weekend in Boeckh Park at the end of Crystal Lake Drive on the Savannah River from 11AM to 4PM on Saturday, April 29th. The public and press are invited to stop by and take an informal tour of this compelling new neighborhood to see first hand how it is coming along, enjoy refreshments and relax by the river. Renderings and floor plans will be on display and Hammond’s Ferry sales staff will be on hand to answer questions.

Though construction of some houses has just begun, visitors will get a first look at how the overall plan has evolved into reality and get a sense of the design of the homes which are inspired by the architecture of Augusta and North Augusta--a style characterized by welcoming front porches and raised basements. They can also enjoy the greenway, already in place, along a mile of riverfront just across the river from the city of Augusta.

Planned using the principals of Traditional Neighborhood Design, Hammond’s Ferry recalls classic pedestrian-oriented American small towns with parks and tree-lined streets. It will feature a range of housing types, from single-family homes to townhomes, condominium apartments and mixed-use buildings with retail space on the ground floors and rental apartments above.
