Ready, Set, Move

"We already live in North Augusta, about 3 miles from Hammond's Ferry. But we need more space and want something newer. We have a 21-month-old son now and another child on the way.

"We chose Hammond's Ferry because we love living in town and the North Augusta community. It just feels right—not too big or too small and the right mix of residential and commercial. And with Augusta just across the river, it is convenient. My husband goes from our door to his office in five minutes.

"There are so many things about Hammond's Ferry that make it right for us. I really like the streetscape. I like the house designs—their openness and friendliness. I like the idea of sitting on the front porch and talking to the neighbors. I like the diversity of people; there are young families, singles, couples with kids in college, retired people—a real mixture. And with a little boy, I like being in a walking community where we can stroll along the streets or walk to parks where he can play.

"Hammond's Ferry and the new Greeneway opens up the river to all of us. You couldn't get down to it before. Our new house will be close enough that we'll be able to walk down to the river and enjoy it."
